Warranty

Prestige Resin workmanship warranty

We stand behind the quality of our preparation and installation. Eligible Prestige Resin flooring installations include a 5-year residential or 2-year commercial workmanship warranty, subject to the terms, exclusions and care requirements below.

Warranty periods

How long cover runs

Cover starts on the date of practical completion, when the job is finished and handed back to you, not the date you first enquired.

Residential

5 Years

From the date of practical completion of a residential installation.

Commercial

2 Years

From the date of practical completion of a commercial installation.

Coverage

What the workmanship warranty covers

Prestige Resin warrants that your coating system was installed with due care and skill, in line with the accepted written scope. During the applicable period, this warranty covers verified defects directly caused by our preparation or application workmanship.

  • Peeling or delamination caused by inadequate preparation on our part
  • Bubbling or loss of adhesion directly caused by an application defect
  • Premature coating failure directly attributable to incorrect mixing or application by us
  • Materially missed or uncoated areas that formed part of the agreed scope

Exclusions

What isn't covered

This express warranty covers our workmanship, not everything that can go wrong with a floor. To the extent permitted by law, it does not cover failure or damage caused by matters outside our workmanship.

These exclusions apply only to this additional express warranty. They do not exclude, restrict or modify your consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded — see Australian Consumer Law below.

  • Movement, cracking, settlement or failure of the concrete or underlying structure
  • Moisture vapour, rising damp, hydrostatic pressure, flooding, leaks or drainage problems
  • Pre-existing or hidden oil, silicone, chemical or other contamination not reasonably detectable before work
  • Impact, gouging, scratching, dragging objects, tyre spinning, misuse, overloading or unauthorised alterations
  • Chemicals, solvents, battery acid, excessive heat, welding, fire or use beyond the system's intended purpose
  • Hot-tyre pickup or tyre staining, unless the written system specification expressly guarantees resistance to it
  • Outdoor UV exposure, yellowing, fading or colour change where a UV-stable finish wasn't expressly specified
  • Normal wear, gradual loss of gloss, staining, dirt, tyre marks or routine maintenance needs
  • Normal variation in hand-broadcast flake, metallic movement, colour, texture, joins or gloss
  • Work, repairs or coating performed by someone else after installation
  • Damage caused by ignoring written cure-time, use or care instructions

Your part

Customer responsibilities & floor care

A workmanship warranty is a two-way arrangement. Looking after the floor the way we tell you to is part of what keeps a claim straightforward.

  • Observe the cure and return-to-service times we record at handover
  • Use non-abrasive cleaning methods and clean spills promptly
  • Use protective pads and avoid dragging sharp or heavy items
  • Tell us promptly if you notice a suspected defect
  • Allow reasonable access for inspection, and hold off arranging third-party repairs beforehand unless urgent action is needed to prevent further damage

Routine care

  • Sweep or vacuum loose grit before mopping
  • Use a soft mop and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for coated floors
  • Clean oil, fuel, chemicals and tyre residue promptly
  • Avoid steel wool, abrasive powders, aggressive solvents and sharp scrapers
  • Use mats or protective pads under kickstands, jacks, stands and heavy equipment
  • Lift rather than drag heavy objects, and test unfamiliar cleaners on an inconspicuous area first

Making a claim

How to make a warranty claim

Contact us as soon as reasonably possible after noticing an issue, ideally within 14 days, so we can assess the cause properly. A delay doesn't remove your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, but it may make it harder to work out what caused the problem or stop it getting worse.

STEP 01

Contact Prestige Resin

Call, email, or use the claim form below.

STEP 02

Give us the details

Your name, installation address, phone and email, installation date, invoice or warranty-certificate number, a description of the issue, when you first noticed it, and clear photos or video.

STEP 03

We inspect and assess

We look at the floor to work out what caused the issue and whether it's covered, before agreeing on a remedy.

What happens next

Inspection & assessment

  1. We acknowledge your claim and may ask for further information.
  2. We arrange a site inspection where reasonably necessary.
  3. We assess whether the issue is covered and let you know the outcome.
  4. Accepted work is scheduled within a reasonable time, subject to access, weather, cure conditions and material availability.

Every claim is inspected and assessed on its own facts. We can't promise an automatic repair, replacement or a guaranteed outcome before we've actually looked at the floor.

If a claim is accepted

Available remedies

If we accept a claim, we'll choose a reasonable remedy appropriate to the defect, within a reasonable time and at no charge for the covered work. That may include:

  • Repairing the affected area
  • Recoating the affected area where a local repair isn't reasonably suitable
  • Performing the relevant installation service again

A local repair may differ slightly in colour, texture, flake distribution or gloss from the surrounding, aged coating. This warranty does not promise an invisible repair. Nothing here limits any remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Who pays for what

You're responsible for the ordinary cost of contacting us and supplying photos or proof of purchase. For an accepted claim within our normal Perth service area, we cover reasonable inspection, labour and material costs for the approved remedy. Any unusual travel, access or third-party costs are agreed with you in writing before they're incurred.

Your rights

Australian Consumer Law

This workmanship warranty is additional to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. It does not exclude, restrict or replace those rights, and they do not stop applying once the 5-year or 2-year period above ends.

Consumer guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with a service, you're entitled to cancel the service contract and get a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value. You're also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.

If a failure with goods or a service isn't a major failure, you're entitled to have it fixed within a reasonable time. If that isn't done, you're entitled to a refund for the goods, and to cancel the service contract and get a refund for any unused portion.

You're also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a workmanship warranty and a product warranty?
A workmanship warranty covers how the floor was prepared and installed, our part of the job. A product warranty would cover the coating material itself and comes from the manufacturer, if one applies to the system used on your job.
When does my warranty begin?
From the date of practical completion, when the job is finished and handed back to you.
What does the residential warranty cover?
Verified defects directly caused by our preparation or application workmanship on a residential installation, for 5 years from completion. See "What the workmanship warranty covers" above.
What does the commercial warranty cover?
The same workmanship coverage as residential, for 2 years from completion.
Are concrete cracks covered?
No. Movement, cracking, settlement or failure of the concrete or underlying structure isn't covered by this workmanship warranty.
Are moisture-related problems covered?
No. Moisture vapour, rising damp, hydrostatic pressure, flooding, leaks and drainage problems aren't covered.
Is normal wear and tear covered?
No. Normal wear, gradual loss of gloss, staining, dirt, tyre marks and routine maintenance needs aren't covered — that's what the routine care guide above is for.
What happens after I submit a claim?
We acknowledge it, may ask for more information, arrange a site inspection where reasonably necessary, then assess whether it's covered and let you know the outcome.
Do my Australian Consumer Law rights still apply?
Yes. This warranty is in addition to those rights, not a replacement for them, and they don't stop applying once the workmanship warranty period ends.
